Doctor Platypus (nicknamed Dr. Plat or short for Mama) is introduced in The Daniel Tiger Movie: Won't You Be Our Neighbor? as the mother of Jodi and Teddy and Leo.
Her children's grandmother is Nana Platypus, Nana is Dr. Plat's mother-in-law.
Daniel's first visit to her is in Daniel Visits the Dentist.
Etymology
Mister Rogers' Neighborhood had a character named Ana Platypus (once spelled Anna Platypus) who was the daughter of Dentist Bill Platypus and a witch prophesied she would become a children's doctor in the future along with Daniel Striped Tiger marrying Collette Tiger.
The human character Doctor Anna in Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood served as a children's doctor. Dr. Platypus is a dentist.[1]
